Bank of America analysts have recently pointed out that America’s Magnificent Seven stocks — Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, Nvidia, Meta, Tesla — are up 70% since the start of the year, while the other 493 stocks in the Standard & Poor’s 500 index are up only 0.1%.
This is no surprise that these seven stocks account for all stock market gains because they reflect the life of an average modern individual very well.
Since real life looks miserable and there is no hope, all that is left is to immerse himself or herself into a virtual dream.
Take your mobile phone (Apple) or your laptop (Microsoft), order some junk food or some other stuff you actually don’t need online (Amazon), and check out your Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp account (Meta) in order to watch the best “feel-good” pet and celebrity videos.
Alternatively, you can search (Alphabet/Google) for the latest bold pronouncements of Elon Musk (Tesla) on almost any topic currently trending in our part of the universe.
Or you can look for the latest AI hype news (Nvidia) to find out whether AI stocks — cryptos, NFTs, meme stocks, SPACs, P2P platforms, tulip bulbs, South Sea Company stock, whatever — have any chance to make you rich fast in order to save you from this indebted, expensive, hopeless, lonely, and wretched life.
Remember the Golden Age of Hollywood in the 1930s amid the Great Depression?
Are you fed up with being a passive participant in this “escapism” game, but have no idea where to start your comeback to life?
Start with your body. Engage in regular vigorous exercise, at least, three times a week for 30–40 minutes. Choose any type of physical activity you like or can afford: jogging, running, swimming, riding a bike, long-distance walking, jumping rope, playing soccer or basketball, fitness, muscle-building workouts, stretching, etc.
When you exercise on a regular basis, your body releases endorphins and endogenous cannabinoids, thus making you feel good without major negative side effects.
Remember there is a healthy mind in a healthy body as the ancient Greeks and Romans used to say.
Start today. You will feel better. Trust me because I don’t want to sell you anything 🙂
